Tasting Notes and Food Pairing Suggestions

  • Braised osso buco with figs and caramelized shallots
  • Pappardelle with braised duck ragu
  • Braised brisket with sweet and sour cipollini onions

This tiny production (not even 100 cases), ethereal Zinfandel was made from 100 year old vines as a joint venture between Joel Peterson, founder of Ravenswood, and a gentleman named Rich Czapleski. If there were ever anything that resembled an Amarone from California it would be this. Secondary flavors of stewed prunes, figs, and dates come across sinuous and elegant, without any of the clunk and chewiness that Zinfandels are often known for. This very rare wine has never been sold commercially at retail!
