Tasting Notes and Food Pairing Suggestions

  • Wild mushroom and asparagus risotto
  • Sliced duck breast with tamarind and pomegranate glaze
  • Roasted copper river salmon with fresh fava bean and green pea couscous

This is an incredible value from a small producer in Central Otago showing graceful, earthy notes of sour cherries, red beets, and a woodsy herbal character that weaves in and out of the wine, elongating the finish. Extremely fresh and expressive, this unfined and unfiltered wine is wonderfully tangy, displaying sweet and sour red fruit that is mouth-filling and very intriguing. Made by Gary Andrus, a winemaker known for his influential work with Pinot Noir in Oregon.
