Tasting Notes and Food Pairing Suggestions

  • BBQ pork ribs
  • Coffee-braised short ribs
  • Chicken with mole poblano
  • Steak au poivre

This polished and sexy example of Carmenere, Chile's signature grape (often referred to as the "lost" grape of Bordeaux), shows faint hints of bay leaf on the nose that take you into a sleek, concentrated wine full of espresso bean, baking spices, ripe blackberries, and black plums. This is an outstanding value for the money that completely defies the notion that Chilean Carmenere is too vegetal or "overly green." You won't find even a trace of that here.
