Tasting Notes and Food Pairing Suggestions

  • Charred sirloin steaks crusted with cumin, coriander, caraway, and fennel seeds
  • Cuban ropa vieja (shredded beef) with smoky black beans
  • Cocoa braised beef cheeks with whipped potatoes

Inky and robust, this 100% Aglianico grown on the volcanic soils of Taurasi is the latest project from the former winemakers of Feudi di San Gregorio, the well-known Campania producer. Deep chocolate and vanilla-scented toast on the nose give way to a silk glove of a wine that oozes sumptuous and concentrated black raspberry fruit and warm baking spices. Decidedly modern and powerful in style, yet grounded by earthy layers of smoke and tar. This is a RIDICULOUS value!
